BIOGRAPHY

Donald Damask

Born in 1953 in New York, currently lives and works in St. Louis, Missouri. The arts of Damask play with color, texture, and line all cobbled by the force of time and chance. His action-based creation process leverages opportunity and opportunity over-tuned, producing challenging compositions on Mongolian cashmere or Japanese rice paper.

Damask is inspired by the places he visits and, as well, the local materials and environments he observes. The copper and gilded objects developed while he was working in Tuscany: while the paper and cashmere prints from a trip to Asia.  Each of these beautiful works is a unique visual statement with great excitement from the artist.
