Like the summer is getting hotter and hotter, our art activities are getting more and more exciting! We are now showcasing works of selected contemporary artists from around the world in both of Sin Sin's art galleries at Prince's Terrace and Sai Street while on the 20th and 28th date of this month, we have the extra-ordinary music performances by artists Rolf Julius and Miki Yui at Sin Sin Annex, Sai Street.

The new series from Kokok P. Sancoko and the latest artworks from Linda Liao are the highlight of this exhibition. Kokok further develops and explores his series with blossoms as the subject matter and Linda transforms the flat canvas into a 3D canvas which is developed from her monochrome series.

Sin Sin and the team wish you a vivid summer holiday and look forward to seeing you in the next exhibition opening reception of DRAMA - 戲 (2000-2010). In the exhibition, Sin Sin will also be showcasing some of her collections and designs as a preview to her own story of drama coming up in December.

Abdi Setiawan's solo exhibition "Sculptures at Andre Simoens Gallery" in Belgium

18 September - 24 October 2010

Abdi Setiawan's sculptures return to the skill of wood carving which deploys the artist's entire perception and imagination to depict the human figure. He carefully calculates the necessary elements to be represented in his sculptural figures, such as city dwellers and children. He carves the teak wood roughly in order to produce uneven surfaces. The acrylic colours enforced to mix on the surface of the polyester casts of his wood sculptures are affecting detailed accessories and facial expressions - elements which all add to the rich physiognomic images in his works. "Abdi Setiawan - Sculptures at Andre Simoens Gallery" is the artist's first solo exhibition in Belgium.

Advanced Energy Healing Series: Reversing the Ageing Process
Deep Emotional Energy Healing Qigong Workshop

We may all have some physical problems or life issues such as bad habits, negative emotions or bad temper that bother us from time to time. We may think they are minor problems but they could affect our lives in a big way and pull our Energy level down. Why can't we fully heal and why do problems keep coming back no matter how hard we have tried? It is most likely due to the negative emotions that we have kept within us. In Quantum Science, it has been proven that everything is Energy. One of the aspects of energy is that all matter consists of vibrational frequency. And Emotion is exactly the vibrational frequency of our being. Both positive and negative emotions are of strong vibrational frequency, and transmit and penetrate deeply, as a result affecting others as well as ourselves very strongly.

Positive emotions give us an uplifting effect. Unfortunately, human beings can easily get stuck in negative emotion. As we accumulate more and more of these negative emotions, begin to affect our life behaviour, seriously damage our physical body and age us much faster. The reason why it is so difficult to release these recurring problems is because we are not treating it at the source level, the Energy.

Qigong is a powerful Energy healing tool. With special energy techniques, we can allow ourselves to connect to this deep and thick emotional Energy, and release. Master Lawrence Tse is offering this tool to help individuals sort through difficult problems.

Please bring an eye mask and be prepared to move your Energy and body!

  Bali Kites Festival

23 - 25 July 2010

The 32nd Bali Kites Festival was held in Padang Galak Sanur on 23 - 25 July, 2010. There were 720 teams participated from Bali. The kites were flown by teams of 10 or more adult kite fliers.

Bebean (fish-shaped), Janggan (bird-shaped) and Pecukan (leaf-shaped) were three traditional kites flown during this kite festival. The Bebean was the largest kite, which looked like a broad-mouthed and split-tailed fish. The Janggan had a broad flowing cloth tail that could reach more than 100 meters in length. The Pecukan required the most skill to fly as its unstable form often tumbled towards the ground. Moreover, red, white and black are three traditional colours used in the kite's designs. Each type of traditional kite has its own competition. A New Creation Kites Competition was held during the festival also. Some of the kites were decorated with detailed three dimensional figures.

Beside Sanur Kites Festival, Tanah Lot Kites Festival was held from 30 July to 1 August, 2010. Many kites will show off in Tanah Lot skies. The giant kites that are 4 meters wide and almost 10 meters long join this festival every year. This Kites Festival is a part of Tanah Lot Art Festival 2010 which was held on 26 July - 1 August, 2010 in Tanah Lot, Bali. It only takes 10 minutes drive from Villa Sin Sin.

In the dry season of June through August, the winds blow continually from east to west across most of Indonesia. Balinese children and adults fly kites in the vacant rice paddies during this particular period of time.
