Sin Sin Fine Art is delighted to introduce the solo exhibition of a French artist Anne Leigniel, held from 5 to 31 May during Festival.Le French May. This is Anne’s first photography exhibition in Hong Kong showcasing different artists’ rags through her camera. Anne, now living in Hong Kong, has been asking artists from all over the world to give her one of their studio rags. She has already gathered rags from over 100 artists from about 20 different nationalities. These are from famous and unknown artists of different age groups, influences and schools. And these are from artists who use very different media: photographers, painters, ceramicists, sculptors, installation artists, and filmmakers; among them Hong Kong artists such as Stanley Wong, Danny Lee, Wong Yan Kwai, Suzy Cheung, Linda Liao are also included. The rags are made out of fabric or paper or any other material found in the studio while making art. She photographs each rag hanging on a nail on the white wall of her studio. The rags drop from the nail taking a sculptural form in timeless silence, each one revealing something about the artist. \\\"I find artists’ rags fascinating in their diversity and richness. They are as varied as art practices and artists’ personalities are.\\\" Anne, 2011 Anne’s works have been exhibiting in galleries worldwide. Her work is in numerous private collections and at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France and the Center for Photography at Woodstock, New York. Sin Sin Fine Art 將於「法國五月」藝術節期間(Le French May)，為法國藝術家Anne Leigniel舉辦其首個在香港的個人攝影展。展覽將會展示在Anne鏡頭下不同藝術家的抹布。 現居於香港的Anne，一直收集世界各地藝術家進行創作時的一些抹布。現在她已收集了過百位來自二十個不同國家藝術家的抹布。這些藝術家各有不同的知名度、年齡、影響力及學派。而他們所專注的藝術範疇也很廣泛：有攝影師,畫家,、陶瓷藝術家、雕刻家、裝置藝術家,影片製作人等等。當中也包括了香港藝術家如又一山人、李展輝、黃仁逵等。 收集的物品中包括有布料、紙張或其他物料，它們均增參與藝術家的創作過程。 Anne把每一個收集到的抹布分別釘在一幅白色的牆上拍攝。掛在釘子上的物件,彷如一件雕刻品浸淫在永恆的寂靜中, 訴説着每一個藝術家的一麟半爪。 "我深深被這些藝術家的抹布的多樣性及其豐富特質所吸引。它們展現了藝術不同的實踐,及藝術家的個性。" Anne, 2011 Anne的作品曽在世界各地的畫廊展出。她的作品獲私人收藏家及the Bibliotheque Nationale de France及Center for Photography at Woodstock, New York等機構所收藏。
