MEDIA RELEASE

Sin Sin Fine Art Ltd Acquires Chouinard Gallery Hong Kong
Debut Show “Passion” Features Art By
Deng Xiao Hong and Thaiwijit Poengkasemsomboon

September 26th, 2003 – Sin Sin has been a name synonymous with fine Asian lifestyle, including hospitality, fashion, jewellery and accessories since 1997. Discreetly located in Central’s On Lan Street in a classical shop house, her retail showroom exhibits characteristics of a time when fine craftsmanship was Hong Kong’s signature. The exceptional quality and relaxed style of her collections has made this a destination for those who truly appreciate attention to fine detail.

At Villa Sin Sin on the island of Bali, one can experience the best of Asian hospitality. The luxurious tranquil setting offers a private oasis to revive the body and rest the spirit.

The current addition of Chouinard Gallery Hong Kong into the Sin Sin family represents a natural progression for her creative development. Representing contemporary artists who reflect the essence of Asia, the gallery gives Sin Sin the opportunity to develop another facet in her pursuit of what it is that represents fine Asian lifestyle.

Sin Sin launches her new venture with an inaugural exhibition entitled “Passion”, which features new contemporary artworks by Chinese (Inner Mongolian) artist Deng Xiao Hong and Thai artist Thaiwijit Poengkasemsomboon from September 26th - October 31st, 2003.

Born in Huhehot, Inner Mongolia, Deng Xiao Hong has represented The Inner Mongolia Artist Association in the Ninth National Art Exhibition (1999) where he won an "Excellence Award". Deng’s works are part of the China National Art Museum's permanent collection and as in this new exhibition, are a stunning, simplistic series of landscapes.

Thaiwijit Poengkasemsomboon is a multi disciplinary artist who works with oils on canvas, paper, found objects and functional objects such as lighting. He is well known for outfitting the funkiest cafés in Bangkok with his unusual and unique style of  “art furniture”. The new works, all acrylic on paper, are presented in unique metal frames made by the artist himself.

Chouinard Gallery Hong Kong will continue to represent young and established artists from South East Asia, with a strong focus on Indonesian and Thai modern art.  Other countries represented include Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand and Vietnam.

Chouinard Gallery Hong Kong, a division of Sin Sin Fine Art Ltd., is located at G/F, No. 1 Prince’s Terrace, Mid-Levels, Hong Kong.
